The "Inc." part is just corporate shorthand for "incorporated." In ZTE's case, it means a publicly listed joint-stock company, with shares trading on both the Hong Kong and Shenzhen stock exchanges. Their 2023 annual report showed revenue of roughly RMB 124 billion and more than 70,000 employees.

Why does this matter for a business buyer? Because you're not buying from a random gadget reseller. ZTE builds carrier-grade network infrastructure, and that engineering depth carries into its phones, dongles, and routers. It also means their roadmap is driven by what large operators need, not just consumer trends—something to keep in mind when you're lining up product tiers against your budget.

Scenario A: Your Crew Keeps Breaking Phones

If your technicians work on construction sites, in damp tunnels, or anywhere a phone gets dropped weekly, you know the pattern. Buy a $150 handset. Hand it out. Come back in eight months to a cracked screen or a device that stopped charging. Repeat.

I won't promise you that any vendor's equipment never fails; I've watched enough network alarms to know that's not how physics works. The question is whether you've bought a support tier that matches your dependency. If your entire operation runs on that network, the cheapest support option is probably not the safest one.

And when you evaluate ZTE for this tier, look at their long-term technology roadmap. Buying infrastructure is a relationship, not a transaction.
