For nearly four decades, ZTE has been at the forefront of wireless technology — from early mobile infrastructure to the 5G and IoT revolution shaping the connected world.
ZTE envisions a world where intelligent connectivity permeates every facet of industry, society, and daily life. We are building the wireless backbone for smart factories, autonomous vehicles, connected cities, and global IoT ecosystems.
With 4,500+ R&D engineers and 16.7% of revenue invested in research, we do not just follow technology trends — we create them. From 5G NR standards contributions to AI-native network management, ZTE transforms what is possible in wireless communication.
Established in Shenzhen as a telecommunications equipment manufacturer, focused on fixed-line and early mobile infrastructure.
Launched WCDMA and CDMA2000 network equipment, expanding into 40+ international markets with carrier-grade solutions.
Deployed 4G LTE networks across 80+ countries, became top-3 contributor to LTE standards in 3GPP.
Achieved first pre-commercial 5G NR deployments, with 1,500+ essential 5G patents filed. Launched IoT module division.
Introduced autonomous network management platform powered by proprietary AI/ML engine, reducing operational costs by 35%.
Leading 3GPP Release 18 contributions for 5G-Advanced, NTN integration, and AI-native air interface design. Patent portfolio surpasses 4,200.
All six manufacturing facilities are ISO 9001:2015 certified (audited annually by TUV Rheinland). The Shenzhen primary facility operates three SMT lines with a combined placement capacity of 180,000 CPH (components per hour). Automated optical inspection (AOI) and X-ray inspection achieve a defect detection rate of 99.6% at board level. Each wireless module undergoes a 72-hour burn-in test at 85 degrees Celsius before shipment.
Wireless modules carry FCC Part 15 certification (US), CE RED 2014/53/EU marking (EU), and TELEC certification (Japan). RF testing is performed in-house using two anechoic chambers (3m and 10m) calibrated per CISPR 32 and CISPR 35 standards. Environmental compliance includes RoHS 2011/65/EU and REACH (SVHC substance list updated per ECHA Candidate List, last reviewed January 2026). Select telecom infrastructure products meet NEBS Level 3 (Telcordia GR-63-CORE and GR-1089-CORE) for central office deployment.
